The evolutionary journey of a Landscape photographer...

I am a professional Rainforest Ecologist, Landscape Photographer, and an Open Access web portal guru based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. I was awarded a Ph.D. for the study of Phyto-ecology of the endemic lion-tailed macaque habitats in the Western Ghats of southern India. I gradually expanded my research interest from monkeys to the rainforest trees, to foster research on the heterogenicity of the Western Ghats’ vegetation. My academic achievements and published peer-reviewed papers are accessible on ResearchGate.

I run a not-for-profit organization, The Rainforest Initiative, and provide Certification, a stamp of approval, for a sustainable future in agricultural and allied products. The Rainforest Initiative Certification™ is in practice at a few companies and an agricultural farm.

I am a self-taught ‘serious amateur’ photographer, trying to master the nuances of Landscape Photography. I approach the art and science of photography with commitment to ensure that I stay in touch with relevant trends; my focus has always been on upping my game behind the camera.

As the Director and CEO of an agricultural start-up, Accenterra Bio, I sell ‘rainfed’ millets and ‘sundried’ organic vegetable oils. My company emphasises on “nutrition-based agriculture rather than market-oriented farming”.

I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Photographic Society of America. I am also a committed member of Nature First Photography. My photographs can also be seen at 500px.
